Sigma Kappa Sorority

I have been a member of Sigma Kappa since Fall 2020. It has given me so many friends and amazing women that I know I will have long lasting friendships and connections with. Sigma Kappa has given me countless opportunities to be involved at Clemson, whether it was being a part of the First Friday parade, to building the Homecoming floats, to fundraising for the Alzheimer's Association. While in Sigma Kappa, I really enjoyed the recruitment process because I was able to talk to so many incredible women. For recruitment in 2021, I was a day chair, which is the person who plans the decorations for the room that we are in and helps set everything up. I really enjoyed this position because I was able to make the room feel more comfortable and I chose decorations that embodied that spirit of Sigma Kappa.

Women in Business

I joined Women in Business in Fall 2021. I had multiple friends in my classes who had told me how beneficial it was for them. That has proven to be true. Through Women in Business, I have been able to connect with countless professionals to network, ask questions, and have mentors. There are multiple events per week with different speakers about business related topics. Each event is beneficial in its own unique way. In addition to meeting professional women, I have made great connections with the other Clemson students in the club. They are motivated women who have helped me prepare for interviews and given me great advice.

Up and Up Festivals Internship

In January of 2023, my friend was given the opportunity to put together a team to market a ticket sales competition to bring a music festival to Clemson and brought me onto her team. We had just over 3 weeks to spread the word around Clemson and try to get as many people as we could to buy tickets during the 48 hour presale period. The top 6 schools would win and because of our late start and being a new school, no one expected us to even be in the top 25 schools. We printed flyers, grew our Instagram account to over 1ooo followers in less than 3 weeks, and collaborated with multiple businesses in downtown Clemson. Because of our strong efforts, we ended up getting 2nd place and winning the music festival for Clemson! This was such an incredible opportunity because I learned how to market something from the ground up. I gained a valuable communications skills and gained more experience working in a team. It was awesome to see all of our hard work pay off when we won! I also helped plan the festival, so I learned about all the different components that go into event planning.
